Am a 21 year old student wit intec colege doing cert in motor vehicle technology.I luv wat am doin its ben alwez my dream to become an engeneer and i ll do watever it teks.Am doin so wel bt my problem is that we dnt do practicals its a distance learning,do i stand a chance of fulfiling my childwod dream?

There are many ways of becoming an automotive engineer and there are also lots of specialisations concerned with automotive. Any person with Engineering degree/Diploma can become an automotive engineer but you will need take some modules that are related to Vehicle engineerig in general. I personally studied mechanical engineering and my speciality is dynamics and control in vehicle engineering environment( basically we analyse the dynamics of a car due to the driver’s input i.e steering, braking and accelerating). There are different levels concerned with automotive, the question will be where do you want to fit. You can find yourself in the following process/levels of automotive:
1. Design: Most of the time to be involved in the desin team you will need a postgraduate degree because it involves lots of advanced analysis and computation.
2. Development:
3. Manufacturing: This is the most important level. this is where production takes place and experience plays a big role because some of the components need to be modified to meet some standard.
