[Italy] Crp Technology

CRP Technology LogoHaving been a primary active partner to the main Racecar Constructors for more than 30 years, CRP Technology offers a unique opportunity to the Motor Sport market: a support throughout the entire project, including the manufacturing process.

CRP has been instrumental in the success of many race winning F1, Moto GP, Rally Raid, ALMS and World Rally Championship teams.
What makes this company different are the partnerships we have formed with the different teams. CRP is involved at the earliest design and development stages and our innovative approach to the use of new materials and technology is widely recognised by the race car industry.
CRP Technology therefore provides race car design and construction services to competition car constructors and motoracing teams.

Constantly developing and improving itself, CRP’s business is nowadays constituted by:

Motorbike. Motogp 250 CRP TechnologyThe main target is the motorsport market, but also the aerospace sector is showing an interest in these technologies.

CRP is widening to new markets, in order to share the new technologies developed for the motorsport market with other industrial sectors.

CRP Technology has several major activities:

In particular, CRP Technology manages innovative projects, such as high precision titanium alloy castings and hard to work materials (i.e. Aluminium MMC) machining of complex shapes.

The Machining Department is characterized by CNC milling centres, suited in particular to hi-tech materials machining. The Quality-Control Department guarantees a continuous control on the materials and on each production step, according to ISO 9001:2000 certification, the company being certified with the National Organization RINA since 1997.

The maximum internal Logistic integration takes advantage of the most modern ICT techniques: the company INTRANET network connects and updates all the company components, from administration to engineering (R&D) and production, from finance to marketing.

Windform FX. Engineering material. Rapid prototyping materialsCRP is a pioneer in RP application, having started in 1996 with the RP technology analysis, when it was almost unknown in Italy, and it developed new cutting edge materials.

In fact, CRP soon had to face the lack of suitable materials to develop their ideas and Franco Cevolini explained: “RP was a fast, cost effective way to realise new design concepts; it allowed us to create practically perfect 3D shapes. Nevertheless with standard materials the models would had been too fragile to work with referring to the applications we had in our mind. Therefore, in 1996, we understood that it could be possible to manufacture stronger prototypes, suitable for wind tunnel tests, but it was necessary to develop more performing materials. I mean, the Rapid Prototyping potential was assumed but the powders structural properties had to be improved. Therefore, thanks to research and experimentation we made the WINDFORM® range”.

There are 5 products in the current WINDFORM® line up:

WindForm™ FX, a new generation polyamide based material, that CRP Technology has launched on June 2007 and that is available to produce parts more flexible but resistance.
It’s particularly suited for Rapid Manufacturing applications.
